Tracing the emigrations

Does anyone know if there is an effort to trace different settlements of Scots in the U.S., Canada, and Australia back to towns that were cleared or to clans or families that moved together? For instance, a large number of Duncan's ended up in Kentucky.  The city of Winnipeg was started by Scots that had been cleared. Nova Scotia is where Shinty turned to Hockey, British Columbia has a elementary school called lochside, and Vancouver just had protests when their noise ordinances outlawed…See More
